Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness.
As the graphic* illustrates, a diagnosis can be the result of more than one cause. For example, depression can be caused by many different factors, including inflammation. Likewise, a cause such as inflammation may lead to a number of different diagnoses, including depression. The precise manifestation of each cause depends on the individual’s genes, environment, and lifestyle, and only treatments that address the right cause will have lasting benefit beyond symptom suppression.

What Is Homeopathy?
What Are Your Hours of Operation?
Hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Please be aware that our office is not designed to handle acute emergency situations. In emergencies, refer to your pediatrician, family practitioner, or local emergency department for acute care. Please keep your primary care provider, as Cornerstone Progressive Health practitioners are not primary care providers.
What Makes Your Clinic Different from Others?
Are Family Members Welcome To Join Me In My Visit?
Yes, we encourage spouses or a family member to come and be part of visits if that is what is desired – except for the infusion room, which is for “patients only.”
Is There a Cancellation Charge for Missing an Appointment??
We have a twenty-four hour cancellation policy. If your appointment is missed without 24 hours prior notice, you will be charged a missed appointment fee of either $100 (for a new patient appointment), or $50 (for a missed follow-up office visit). You will be charged only if your appointment is missed without proper cancellation. We have a list of people waiting for appointments; if you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so as soon as possible to avoid any misunderstandings or missed appointment charges.
How Can I Obtain Refills for What Your Practitioner/s Prescribe?
Request refills from your pharmacy of choice minimum 1 week (ideally 2 weeks) prior to running out. Tell the pharmacy that Cornerstone Progressive Health does not have an electronic medical record system (the pharmacy must manually fax refill requests to our office). The staff will present the refill request to the practitioner with your chart. The practitioner will review the request ASAP and decide whether or not to refill depending on your situation. Lastly, the completed refill request is sent back to the pharmacy who will contact you.
Does Cornerstone Progressive Health File Insurance for their Patient?
Do You Offer Payment Plans?
Currently, we do not offer payment plans.
Can I Chelate if I Have Undergone Bypass Surgery?
Do I Need to See a Licensed Practitioner Before I Can Start IV Chelation Therapy?
Patients need to have a new patient appointment before any therapies can be ordered or started at our clinic. Chelation and high dose Vitamin C IV’s are a prescribed medication and can only be ordered by the medical staff.
Will Your Practitioner Be My Primary Care Provider?
No, we ask that all patients have a primary care provider (PCP) since the office is not equipped for urgent or emergency type care or able to provide 24/7 access to the practitioners or non-emergent office services. All urgent medical situations should be addressed at the emergency room or urgent care.
Will I Get a Copy of My Test Results?
Yes, a copy of everything is given to you at the time of your visit. The practitioner who will be reviewing them with you in person or in the group setting will be discussing more specific treatment options to consider based on the new or additional information obtained.
Our 5 year old son had 4 large painful warts, three on his feet and one on his finger. Cornerstone Progressive Health offered to try the new LED technique to see if it would help eliminate the warts. After 2 ½ weeks taking the drops orally and applying it to his warts they have completely gone.
